CM-Collector discussions raise eyebrows

Ongole (Prakasam): Eyebrows were raised when Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, who was sharing the dais with a host of ministers and senior political leaders at the farmers empowerment programme at Kondepi on Monday, choosing to ignore them, and instead holding discussions with District Collector GSRKR Vijay Kumar. Leaders began wondering as to what transpired between them.

The Chief Minister who was highly impressed with the performance of the District Collector for taking measures and putting the district on top with regard to the rate of literacy patted him on the back. At the farmers programme, he spoke with Vijay Kumar for a long time and enquired from him about the number of farmers who were eligible for loan waiver in the district and also the response of the farmers regarding the loan waiver scheme. The District Collector handed over to the Chief Minister the complete file relating to the loan waiver scheme in the district. The Chief Minister lauded the Collector for the measures that he took for comprehensive development of the district. The TDP leaders were surprised that the Chief Minister elicited the details directly from the District Collector ignoring them. He even discussed the minor and minute details with the Collector, giving him importance over others. The Chief Minister also asked the details regarding the availability of natural and physical resources in the district.
