Distress in AP? Call TS police

It will be the Telangana police control room located in Hyderabad. Telangana state police will be answering the call and alert the police in Andhra Pradesh.

“Let’s not make an issue out of this, sir. We are ready to help you even if you’re in Andhra Pradesh,” said the operator who answered this correspondent’s call from Vizag and refused to identify to which state he belonged to. When our Hyderabad reporter contacted the control room, the officials said that it would take two months for a separate control room for AP to be set up.
Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu may be talking tall on the capital construction and planning smartcities but forgot to shift basic facilities necessary for the common man to Vijayawada for the convenience of the Andhraites. Initially, the State government thought of dividing the control room into Telangana and Andhra Pradesh sections but later abandoned the idea after a decision was taken to shift the DGP office temporarily to Vijayawada.
“The DGP office is being put up in SE office in Vijayawada after which control room and other important police offices would be shifted,’’ said DCP (crime) T Ravi Kumar Murthy. This would take another two to three months and till then AP distress calls would be answered by the Hyderabad Control Room.
