On the occasion, Pawan said: Telugu people have two states today because of one generation's mistake."

This has led to the speculation in political circles on why Pawan made that statement months after the state was divided. Besides, his coziness to BJP is being seen as a strategy to merge his party with the saffron party. Should that happen, Pawan will be no better than his brother Chiranjeevi who merged his Praja Rajyam Party with the Congress for want of power.
