Hyderabad: In view of Andhra Pradesh emerging as an attractive destination for investments, several industrialists met Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Tuesday at his residence. During the meetings, the Chief Minister highlighted the advantages of Andhra Pradesh to investors and informed them that several global and local investors have evinced interest in AP. He said that the state is located strategically to become the gateway to East and South East Asia and has the potential to be developed as a logistics hub.

Naidu said that Andhra Pradesh has a massive land bank, offers 24X7 power and has abundant water. That apart, the Chief Minister added that AP also has skilled human resources and abundant natural resources which place the state at an advantageous position. Explaining that the single-desk policy and 21-day clearances will make the environment conducive for investors, the Chief Minister said that industrial development will not only rake in revenues for the state but also play a crucial role in creating employment opportunities.

He added that the state is working to improve the industrial growth rate. During the meeting, CEO of Zodiac Apparel Suresh Noorani informed the Chief Minister that their apparel units are located in various states across the country. He told the CM that if the state government comes forward to provide land to the company, he will bring all the units to the state. Noorani requested the Chief Minister to provide 22 acres of land for the units. The Chief Minister asked Industries Secretary Shamsher Singh Rawat to explore the proposal.

Another industrialist, S K Goenka, chairman, Jairaj Ispat informed the Chief Minister that the company is making an investment of Rs 3,000 crore on an integrated steel plant in Kurnool district. A pharma delegation led by Member of Parliament Kesineni Nani met the Chief Minister at his residence today. The pharma experts sought the state government’s cooperation in providing all the necessary resources to make Andhra Pradesh a pharma hub. They informed the CM that they will work on attracting more pharma companies to set up shop in the state.
