Anantapur: District Collector Kona Sashidhar said on Saturday the district officials had identified land for setting up of industries by Nissan, BHEL factory and Airbus project. Participating in a video conference chaired by the state Chief Secretary I Y R Krishna Rao for the District Collectors of Anantapur, Kurnool, Chittoor and West Godavari, Sashidhar said they were ready with the details on the available lands.

The Chief Secretary reviewed the efforts made to acquire lands for setting up of factories. Speaking on the occasion, the Anantapur District Collector said that they acquired 449. 91 acres of land for Nissan and still another 41 acres of land was yet to be identified. He said that 264 acres of assigned land was ready for the Airbus Project and they would pay compensation to the owners of the land in another four or five days.

Similarly, he said BHEL factory requires 913 acres and 783 acres of land was already identified. The District Collector said that they were ready with 79,000 acres of land bank for setting up industries in the district. He said that they already identified 222 acres of land for setting up an electronic cluster in Chilamattur mandal. The Chief Secretary advised the District Collector to take appropriate measures to provide water facilities by laying pipelines and setting up storage tanks, and send the estimates. Availability of sufficient quantities of water was essential for setting up industries, he said.
