Union Minister for Health JP Nadda addressing BJP State executive meet in Visakhapatnam on SundayVisakhapatnam: Union Minister for Health JP Nadda has said the party would launch mass contact programme for three months beginning May first week to strengthen the party at grassroots.Addressing a press conference after the inaugural session of the BJP State executive body meeting here on Sunday, Nadda, who is also the Minister In-charge for AP affairs, said the progress of membership drive in both Andhra Pradesh and Telangana States has been impressive and the last date for enrollment has been extended till April 30.

He said the members’ enrollment has gone up to a record 27.5 lakh in both the states of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, which is ten times more than the last year.After the completion of the membership drive, which has been mostly online and through mobile phones, mass contact programme would be organised for three months beginning May 1.

During the mass contact programme, party workers would visit individual member’s house and interact with the family and record their history with all relevant information.Later a micro-level training programme would be organised for the grassroot workers of the party.On the inaugural session of the executive body meeting, it was resolved to train 1,000 party workers to take up the mass contact programme.

Stressing on the role of the party in grounding the government sponsored works, Nadda said he would personally monitor the status of various important works which have been sanctioned by the Central government.Local MP Dr K Haribabu, AP Health Minister Kamineni Srinivas, Endowments Minister P Manikyala Rao, city president P V Narayana Rao and others were present at the media conference.
