Hyderabad: Union Minister of State for Commerce and Industry Nirmala Sitharaman on Sunday said Andhra Pradesh was within in its right to demand special status.Speaking to the media here, the Union Minister said the Centre was committed to conferring special status on AP.
However, it would take some more time to accord the status, she said, adding that the Centre had allocated Rs 500 crore for the construction of new capital city. She said “we are mounting pressure on the Centre to give special status to the State.”
