District Communist Party of India secretary P Kameshwara Rao lashed out at the Central and State governments for making the farmers’ lives miserable.
Speaking to the media here on Sunday, he said that the CPI would organize a ‘Jail bharo’ programme throughout the country on May 14, opposing the land acquisition bill. He also released the poster of the Jail Bharo programme.
Kameshwara Rao said that the NDA government was trying to push the farmers from the frying pan into the fire through the new land acquisition bill which would make it easier the confiscation of the farmers’ lands.
He said that it was unfortunate that the NDA government at the Centre and the TD government at the State was trying to snatch the lands of the farmers through intimidation and coercion only to gift them away to the corporate honchos.
