It said heavy rainfall will occur at isolated places in coastal AP and Rayalaseema. Isolated heavy rain may occur in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. A Met report said rain or thundershowers will occur at many places in coastal AP, at a few places in Telangana and at most places in Rayalaseema on May 16. Isolated rain or thundershowers may occur in Telangana, Andhra Pradesh and coastal AP during the next three days, On Thursday isolated rainfall occurred in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. The chief amounts of rainfall recorded (in cm) were: Andhra pradesh: Puttur 6, Tirupati, Sambepalle and Veligandla 2 each. Telangana: Varni 4, Rudrur, Jukkal, Boath 3 each, Narayankhed and Yedapalle 2 each.

On Thursday, the maximum temperatures fell at a few places in Telangana. They were markedly below normal at one or two places in Rayalaseema, appreciably below normal at one or two places in Telangana, below normal at a few places in south coastal AP, Telangana, at one or two places in rest of south coastal AP and above normal at one or two places in north coastal AP.

Hanamkonda recorded the highest maximum temperature of 41 degrees Celsius in the southern region. The recordings of maximum temperatures in Andhra Pradesh were:Bapatla 35, Kakinada 37, Kalingapatnam 36, Kavali 35, Machilipatnam 35, Nandigama 39, Narsapur 36, Nellore 37, Ongole 37, Jangamaheswarapuram 38, Tuni 37, Vijayawada 38, Visakhapatnam 36, Anantapur 38, Arogyavaram 33, Kadapa 35, Kurnool 40, Nandyal 39 and Tirupati 34. The maximum temperatures in Telangana were: Adilabad 37, Hakimpet 35, Hanamkonda 41, Hyderabad 37, Khammam 40, Mahabubnagar 39, Medak 38, Nalgonda 39, Nizamabad 39 and Ramagundam 39.
