Bobbili MLA R V Sujay Krishna Ranga Rao and three other MLAs, who are resisting Botcha’s tooth and nail entry, are likely to take a serious decision that will cause a huge damage to the YSRCP in the region. Jaganmohan Reddy reportedly tried hard to convince Sujay and others but in vain.

Botcha camp organised a meeting of local Congress leaders in Vizianagaram on Saturday to mobilise as many leaders and cadre as possible to join YSRC along with Satyanarayana. But some important leaders like former MLA S Chandrasekhara Raju stayed away from the meeting. After election upset in May 2014, Jagan decided to strengthen the party by taking in some leaders from Kapu community from the Congress.

At the same time, Botcha, who had played a key role in previous government, was also struggling for a political existence. Sources close to Botcha said he was offered MLC ticket under local body constituency in the coming elections from Vizag district and he is going to be made leader of opposition in Legislative Council. These developments irked Sujay and his followers, and now they are reportedly planning to hold a meet with their supporters to elicit their opinions on future course of action.

Sujay’s supporters are also pressuring him to take a right decision in right time. He is likely to leave YSRCP along with three MLAs, who are very close to him. Some other MLAs are also likely to follow him to protect their political interests. On the other hand, the ruling TDP is also said to be wooing Sujay through some leaders as the party is facing a leadership problem in the district.

Thought the senior Leader and Minister for Civil Aviation P Ashok Gajapathi Raju has been supervising the party activities in the district, it is proving to be difficult for him as he is spending more time in Delhi as a Cabinet minister. When contacted, MLA Sujay said, “Now I am away from the Andhra Pradesh. I will discuss with my followers and mandal-level leaders in this regard and will take a decision.”

YSRCP MLA of Kurupam P Pushpa Srivani said, “We will obey the decision by party chief Jaganmohan Reddy. Whatever the decision he takes, it must be helpful to the party. We will follow the guidelines framed by the party president.’ Avanapu Vijay, district Youth president of YSRCP, said “I think Botcha will be an asset to our party. His seniority and experience will definitely help the party.”
