Congress faced the worst ever defeat in 2014 elections. After the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh, the Congress party is struggling to find its place in the state. Ever since the elections, the Congress party leaders have been planning strategies to revive the party in Seemandhra.

Congress party PCC chief Raghuveera Reddy and other senior leaders have been insisting that it is because of the sincere efforts of the Seemandhra Congress leaders, that the Centre has announced a financial package. But their statements could not convince the cadre and boost their morale. As part of the party leadership’s revival strategy, the Congress leaders staged several dharnas and rallies across the state on several issues.

Recently, AICC vice president Rahul Gandhi also toured Anantapur district. The Centre's delay on the special status for AP has given a chance to the Congress to corner both the State and Central governments. Several leaders including Chiranjeevi, who maintained silence all these days, are now seen actively participating in the party activities. Sources in the Congress party said that the Congress High Command has asked the party senior leaders to take the special status issue extensively in the public and be in the limelight.

Unfortunately, Congress worker Muni koti who tried for self-immolation at the protest organised by the Congress party died of burns. His death raked up controversy and all the political parties have started blaming the TDP and BJP for his death. Has Muni Koti's death given voice to the Congress? Is Congress trying to make the best use of Koti's sacrifice?
