Vijayawada: Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu will release a series of concept papers explaining the issues concerning the State. The concept papers will provide a detailed account of the bifurcation process, the failures of Congress, the role of other opposition parties, the financial concerns and other issues, said the Chief Minister.

Addressing a news conference here on Wednesday on conclusion of deliberations held for two days with Ministers and other officials, Naidu said the special category status was promised by the Congress and supported by the BJP at the time of bifurcation. However, he said he would explain in detail about the special category status and the benefits that come from it to make people understand these issues.

The concept papers would also help the government and the Telugu Desam Party expose other political parties on the bifurcation issue and the present agitation held by them for special status. Naidu said that he had conducted a review of the series of agitations held in the State on special category status.

He said he had detailed telephonic conversation with Union Ministers Arun Jaitley, M Venkaiah Naidu, Rajnath Singh, Niramala Sitaraman and BJP president Amit Shah on the special status issue the other day. Prime Minister Narendra Modi had called him over phone on Wednesday, Chandrababu Naidu said, and added that he had explained in detail about the mood of the people and the sentiments attached to the special status demand.

He asserted that the Prime Minister had responded positively and had requested him to meet him in Delhi after August 16. He expressed confidence that people would understand the difficulties that he was facing after bifurcation. When asked whether he was confident of getting special category status to the State, the Chief Minister said that he wanted to explore every possibility and his concern was the development of the State.

When his attention was drawn to the Opposition’s criticism that he was being soft towards the BJP, Chandrababu Naidu pointed out that he would compromise with anyone for the development of the State and continue to strive for the welfare of the people. Referring to the Opposition parties’ agitation on special status, the Chief Minister wanted to know why the same parties were not speaking about the implementation of Section 8 of the Re-organisation Act 2014.

He said that the Telangana State government was creating problems to his government and he would explain all these issues to the people through the concept papers. The Chief Minister expressed confidence that the people would understand all the issues and would stand by him in developing the State. Finance Minister Y Ramakrishnudu and Municipal Administration Minister P Narayana were also present at the news conference.
