Andhra Pradesh Medical Council constituted

Vijayawada: AP Medical Council was formed with Dr Raja Rao as chairman, Dr Jayachandra Naidu as vice-chairman with PV Sudhakar, D Srihari Rao and M Madhavi Latha as the members of executive committee. The committee members assumed office at Dr NTR University of health sciences here on Saturday.

Minister for Health Kamineni Srinivas participated as chief guest in the swearing in ceremony of members. As the medical council was bifurcated the APMC general body decided to extend the tenure of registrar, K Satyanarayana Murthy for a period of two years. The general body appointed the ethics committee with Dr Raviraju as chairman, Administrative committee with D Srihari Rao as chairman,

Finance committee with K Satyanarayana Chari as chairman, Continuing medical Education committee with S Adinarayana Rao as chairman, Legal and anti quackery committee with Satyanarayana Murthy as chairman, Medical Education, registration and vigilance committee with Krishnam Raju as chairman, Building committee with K Pattabhiramaiah as chairman and public relations committee with DRK Prasad as chairman.

It may be noted that the state government issued an order for constitution of separate medical council for AP on August 21.
