Ongole: The Central government has identified about 40 crore of unorganised trade workers in the country said, Bandaru Dattatreya, Union Minister for Labour and Employment. He said that the government is going to issue smart cards for all of them to enable them to access financial and health schemes. Dattatreya inaugurated Snow White Free Low Iodine Salt Industry in Chinaganjam of Prakasam district on Friday.

The Union Minister said that the Andhra Pradesh has a vast coast line which could be used for many industries like salt refineries and fisheries. He welcomed more industrialists to utilise the government schemes and provide employment to the youth by setting up industries in the rural areas.

He said, “I congratulate the Snow White Salts industries for setting up the industry here with about Rs 10 crore investment and providing employment to 300 workers. The industrialists should come forward to provide more employment opportunities to the rural youth.

The Central government is about to issue smart cards for the 40 crore people, who are in unorganised trade soon. It is also in the purview of the government to include fishermen also as unorganised trade workers and issue smart cards to them as well. Though the State is bifurcated, the Telangana and Andhra Pradesh governments must cooperate with each other for the development of one another,”

The Telugu Rythu president Karanam Balarama Krishna Murthy, Parchoor MLA Eluri Sambasiva Rao, Chirala MLA Krishna Mohan, Santanutalapadu MLA Adimulapu Suresh, YSRCP leader Ummareddy Venkateswarlu and other leaders and officials participated in the event.
