Visakhapatnam: Representatives of voluntary or service organisations always focus on doing something for the community-based needs by contributing money and labour and the local Rajastani Samskritik Mandal (RSM) tops the list, observed Municipal Commissioner Praveen Kumar.

He inaugurated the bathing ghat and the modern waiting gallery constructed by Rajastani Sanskritik Mandal at a cost of Rs 20 lakh at the Chavulamadum burial ground here on Saturday. Praveen Kumar, while complimenting the members of RSM for attending to the basic community needs, he called upon all other organisations to voluntarily take up social activities like plantation, providing toilets to government schools and Swachch Visakha programme as part of city beautification in order to get the Smart city status. Responding to the plea made by mandal representatives, he assured them of providing proper lighting system in the burial ground.

President of RSM Chandamal Agarwal informed that a room was built with an overhead tank and eight taps inside and a modern waiting gallery for those who attend to funerals. Stating that the project was taken up as part of Golden Jubilee Year celebrations of Rajastani Sanskritik Manadal likely to be held in January, 2016, he said they had already provided drinking water facility on the R K Beach road and adopted a municipal school besides attending to regular service activities.
