He said as part of this, all clinical tests to the poor will be conducted free of cost in all the district headquarters hospitals and area hospitals from January 1.

He reviewed progress of works relating to various departments with the officials concerned at his camp office here on Tuesday.

Speaking at the meeting, the Minister directed medical and health officials to provide basic facilities to the pregnant women in government hospitals. He revealed that ‘102’ ambulance services would be introduced in the State soon exclusively for pregnant women.

Reviewing the water scarcity, the Minister directed officials to take up an action plan to avoid water scarcity during summer. The Rural Water Supply (RWS) officials should initiate action in this regard, he said.

He said under Neeru-Chettu programme, development of drinking water tanks should be taken up. He stated that he would discuss the issue of unavailability of sand for the works, which halted in the district. He directed the officials to complete the overhead tanks, pipelines construction under various schemes in Padala, Jagannadhapuram, Akuteegapadu, Bodapadu, Ravipadu villages in Tadepalligudem constituency.

Social Welfare Engineering officer J Nagaseshu Babu, RWS engineers Srinivasa Babu, Parvathi, Krishnamohan, Tadepalligudem Government Hospital superintendent V Janardhan Rao, Medical officers Dr Ravikiran and Hemalatha and other officials participated in the review meeting and explained the work progress in their respective departments.
