Vijayawada: The South Head and Director of Dell, Ranjit Metrani expressed the company’s desire to work closely with the government of Andhra Pradesh to set up a data centre, empower start-ups and contribute for promoting quality of education.

“There is vast scope for development in the region and we are waiting to meet the Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu to discuss the plans,” he added. Interacting with the media persons here on Wednesday, Ranjit spoke about the initiatives of the organisation in Karnataka and hinted at plans to take out similar activities in AP. “There is a need for data centre to ensure good governance. The development in technology is in changing analytics and we are happy to offer infrastructure in terms of services and storage,” he said.

Speaking about the initiative ‘e-mavericks’, which is reaching out to the enthusiastic entrepreneurs, especially students, who lack money and expertise but are driven by passion, Metrani said that they are focusing to spread the services to tier 2 cities like Vijayawada, Tirupati, Vishakhapatnam, Rajahmundry and other such places. We have opened a lab with latest technological equipment at Andhra University for the students to experience the world class updates in technology.
