Kakinada: Finance Minister Yanamala Ramakrishnudu on Tuesday assured that the State government was committed to development of culture and tourism to give a thrust to the economic activity in the State.

The Minister released the poster detailing various cultural programmes to be held for youth as part of the NTR Beach Festival, scheduled to be held between January 8 and 10 at Haritha Beach resorts.

Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said that the TDP government was fully aware of the importance to help organise various events and festivals in the State, like several developed countries.

He said the government had already sanctioned Rs 1 crore towards the festival and added that an additional 50 acres of land was allotted to the NTR beach Vakalapudi, where necessary infrastructure would come up soon.

Stating that the festival would be given the status of State festival, he appealed to denizens of East Godavari to attend the festival in large number to make it a success.

District officials said that all arrangements were made for the smooth conduct of the festival. The festival would be inaugurated by Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on January 8.
