Vijayawada: “Youngsters should utilise technology in enhancing their skills so that they contribute to society with ethics,” said former director of academics (CBSE) and chief vigilance officer G Bala Subramanian who is also a consultant at Pearson Education of India.

In a seminar on ‘Professional Learning Options’ held by Nalanda Educational Institutions here on Saturday, he elaborated on the needs and requirements of today’s employment sectors, changing trends in education system and role of teachers, students and parents.

Subramanian, during his lecture, insisted on how it is important for the youth of Vijayawada city to acquire skills to grab opportunities in future.

“Rather than reaching the goal, it is advisable for a student to nurture his character, thoughts and behaviour first to achieve target. Experiences have to be a lesson for all who progress and one should always feel grateful of what they have. A person who cannot realise his opportunities will never achieve satisfaction no matter what he technically achieves for society or people,” he said.

“With the world becoming a smaller place, there are many innovative courses, which are not only offering technical, medical and engineering disciplines but also a vast dimension in arts and service sectors. Parents should encourage their children to pick up a subject that they can excel in. Investing efforts, dedication and a disciplined lifestyle will take a person to heights,” added Balasubramanian.

Academic in-charge B Venkateswarlu, degree college principal Anuradha, faculty, students and parents were present.
