Baby shower at police station

​ Amaravati: The other side of police personnel came to the fore when they performed a baby shower to a woman constable at the Pattabhipuram police station in Guntur on Friday. This is for the first time that a function was performed at the police station in the district.

As soon as they got permission from the higher officials to perform the function, the police decorated the room in the police station and performed the baby shower to a woman constable M Prameela and offered bangles, flowers, fruits, sweets and new a saree. Later, they distributed sweets to all the staff in the police station.

DSP Saritha blessed the woman constable and presented a new saree and sweets. She said it is a good culture and asked to carry forward the tradition. “We consider our staff like our brothers and sisters and performed the function,” she said.

Pattabhipuram Circle Inspector M Seshagiri Rao said: “As soon as I got this idea, I shared it with DSP Saritha, who gave green signal to my proposal. I felt the woman police constable is like my sister and performed the function. It is like family function.”
