Besides, Andhra Pradesh Women’s Commission Chairperson Nannapaneni Rajakumari, Women and Child Welfare Minister Peethala Sujatha consoled the victim’s family at the hospital in the afternoon. The victim Pydala Indumathi was set on fire by two stalkers at her house in Chataparru on Saturday afternoon. She succumbed to burn injuries and died on Saturday night at the hospital. The body was sent to post-mortem shed in the night.

On Sunday morning, the Chataparru villagers and Rajaka Jana Sangham leaders reached the hospital to protest against the incident, and demanded the action against accused immediately. They raised slogans demanding the government to file a case under “Nirbhaya” Act. Even SFI activists burnt an effigy of the accused in the hospital compound. The Police took SFI leader Kranthi into their custody and shifted to a police station.

State Women’s Commission Chairperson Nannanapaneni Rajakumari reached the hospital to console the family members of the victim. She enquired about the incident with the parents. She also examined the victim’s body at the mortuary. The parents and relatives of the victim appealed the Women’s Commission to take necessary action against the accused. Rajakumari was gheraoed by SFI activists.

Speaking to press persons, she promised to act sternly against the accused. She said the Commission was already looking into the matter. Women and Child Welfare Minister Peethala Sujatha told reporters that she had already directed the police to act sternly against the accused.

Meanwhile, police said they had already begun the investigation. Eluru Rural Circle Inspector Adapa Naga Murali said that a murder case under 302 IPC was registered against the culprits.The CI said that they had one of the accused Daggumilli Pedababu, who is studying in KAHL College, had attended the practical examination and was at the examination centre till 12 PM on Saturday. “We are currently investigating his movement after 12 PM to uncover as what had happened,” he added.
