Coromandel Express halts at Eluru

It may be recalled here that the railways have decided to give a minute halt to Coromandel Express at Eluru railway station starting from Maha Sivaratri.
Speaking on the occasion, the MP assured the denizens that a railway zone would be set up in Visakhapatnam. He said after bifurcation of the State, the government has decided to set up a railway zone in capital region, but later Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, Visakhapatnam MP K Haribabu and others came to a consensus on setting up a railway zone in Visakhapatnam. He assured that post Budget sessions of Parliament, the MPs representing Eluru would bring pressure on the Centre for sanctioning a railway zone in Vizag.
The MP said the railways have decided to change the present single line broad gauge line to double line from Vijayawada to Narsapuram via Gudiwada, Machilipatnam, Kaikaluru and Bhimavaram stations. For this, Rs 1,400 crore would be earmarked for West Godavari district, he added. He said the doubling line works and electrification works between Narsapuram and Nidadavole via Tanuku would also be expedited.
The MP said the minute halt to Coromondal Express at Eluru railway station is a long-pending wish of the denizens. He assured the people of taking the issue of providing a halt to Bhavnagar Express at Eluru and Ratnachal Express at Nuzvid, to the notice of the Chief Minister and other officials concerned. He said two escalators would be installed at Eluru railway station for the benefit of commuters.
Railway station master Satyanarayana, chief parcel supervisor Hussain, former MLA Ambica Krishna, Municipal Commissioner Y Sai Srikanth, Deputy Mayor Gudiwada Ramachandra Kishore and others were also present.
