Collector fixes Rs 180 for loading sand in truck
District Collector M Janaki fixed Rs 180 to load sand in a truck at sand reaches. She convened a meeting with revenue and police officials here on Tuesday. She said sand mining has to be allowed in all identified reaches and supply should be regulated according to demand.

The Collector said sand should be used only for domestic use and not for commercial purpose. She warned to take action if anyone found violating orders. She said that charge was fixed for loading sand into truck to control prices in the market. Janaki said some reaches have no proper roads and Panchayat Raj department has been entrusted to lay them for convenience of sand transport. She directed officials to visit the reaches and
observe the conditions.
District SP Vishal Gunni said police officials would accompany revenue officers during their visit to the reaches for observing the conditions. He said they would take action against illegal storage of sand. The SP said the main aim of the government is to provide sand at free of cost for domestic needs.
