Rampachodavaram: ITDA project officer KVS Chakradhar Babu on Saturday said that 1200 unemployed youth in the 18-35 years age group are being given training in various vocations in youth training centers (YTCs). Addressing the Velugu project staff and other relevant officials in his chambers, he asked them to provide feedback to the ITDA on the progress of trainees and keep ready full details of the trainees.

Each training center should be equipped with wi-fi, land phones, Internet amenities, he said asking the officials to track down how the trainees are gainfully employed upon receiving training. He enquired managers how many have been undergoing training in the six centers. He said 24 training courses in six centers are available for the unemployed of 11 Agency mandals.

He advised the managers to commence training programs in all centers on Monday. The centers should have lunch facility, watch and ward staff, kitchen sheds and so on, he said enquiring the managers the available equipment with the training centers and what is their requirement. Tribal welfare deputy director has been asked to supply sports goods to the training centers.

He asked the officials to submit proposals to set up libraries in the training centers. He enquired from the Velugu project officials the extent of pension granted to PGTs who have crossed 50 years of age. He exhorted tribal youth to come forward to set up units as a group of 10 to avail the government subsidy.

To a request, he sought details from Velugu project officials on how many tribal women have been undergoing training in stitching and how many more are going to undergo training in the craft so that sewing machines can be supplied to them on subsidy. Deputy director tribal welfare Saraswati, Velugu Assistant project director S Srinivas Dora, Tribal Welfare Executive Engineer PK Nageswara Rao and others took part in the meeting.
