Vasanthotsavam performed
The annual Vasanthotsavam ceremony was performed at the temple of Goddess Padmavathi in Tiruchanur on Sunday. Special rituals were observed at the beautifully decked up Friday Gardens attached to the temple. The temple witnessed a heavy crowd on Sunday. Abhishekam was performed by the priests to the deity after a rich paste of sandalwood and vermilion was applied.

‘Vasanthotsavam’ is a festival to celebrate the onset of spring, which in fact is one of the several such religious events conducted in Hindu temples across the country. ‘Snapana Tirumanjanam’ (celestial bath) was given to the deity of Padmavathi in the evening, at the Friday Gardens situated opposite the temple.
Temple Dy EO C Ramana explained that the religious fate would let the Goddess shower her blessings on the globe and ensure peace and prosperity.
