Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has decided to completely shut down the functioning of the AP Secretariat in the Telangana Secretariat premises as he wants the government mechanism to be shifted to new capital city Amaravati as early as possible.

Orders regarding the employees shifting to Velagapudi in Amaravati are expected to be released soon. Chandrababu is said to be keen on shifting to Velagapudi and vacate the Secretariat in Hyderabad, handing over the buildings to Telangana government. It is to be known that AP has 10 years of official mandate in sharing the Telangana government infrastructure and also have an extended period beyond 10 years if necessary as per the AP Reorganization Act.

Currently, the construction is under process for the AP government buildings for Secretariat at Velagapudi and once the construction is completed, CRDA will allocate blocks for different departments.
