With the unprecedented pilgrim crowd which has become a common factor from the past 10 days, the temple administration of Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) has set a few new records in providing amenities to the scores of visiting pilgrims in various areas. Especially on Sunday, May 29, a record number of one lakh pilgrims were provided darshan on a single day. 

Tirupati: With the unprecedented pilgrim crowd which has become a common factor from the past 10 days, the temple administration of Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) has set a few new records in providing amenities to the scores of visiting pilgrims in various areas. Especially on Sunday, May 29, a record number of one lakh pilgrims were provided darshan on a single day.

Record 1.03 lakh devotees had darshan of the presiding deity on Sunday

Out of the 1,03,384 who had darshan on Sunday, over 47,000 pilgrims were Divya Darshan pilgrims, 30,000 odd Sarva Darshan pilgrims and 16,000 plus comprised Pratyeka Pravesha Darshan pilgrims while the rest included Arjitha Seva ticket holders, privileged darshan category, Angapradakshina and others.

While on Saturday, May 28, the Kalyanakatta tonsuring area recorded the highest number of tonsures for this year so far with the figures recording 69, 370 while on Sunday the figures stood at 49,362. The Annaprasadam wing of TTD has provided food and beverages to the pilgrims on a large-scale during the last three days in Matrusri Tarigonda Vengamamba Annaprasada Bhavanam, PAC 2, Outside lines, compartments etc.

While the number of pilgrims who had Anna Prasadam in MTVAC on May 27 is 77,220 and on May 28 is 78,350. Over 82,570 pilgrims had free meals on May 29 in this massive complex. Apart from this, curd rice, sambar bath, Pongal, upma etc have been served to pilgrims waiting in queue lines and compartments at regular intervals with beverages including coffee, tea, milk, and buttermilk in between intervals during the last three days.

On the other hand, over 4,04,967 laddus were distributed on May 28 and 3,97,960 on May 29 to the scores of pilgrims who thronged the Tirumala temple.
