Finance Minister Yanamala Ramakrishnudu said that he was hopeful of centre would release funds to fill the revenue deficit of the State. “There was a deficit of Rs 16,000 crore at the time of bifurcation. We made several representations to the Centre and are confident that they would release funds,” he stated.

He participated in a seminar on ‘Impact of bifurcation and the measures to strengthen State’ organised as a part of second day of Nava Nirmana Deeksha, here on Friday.

Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said 14th Finance Commission release Rs 3,000 crore to fill the revenue deficit and they are waiting for the remaining funds. “CAG report also recommended the Centre to release Rs 15,000 crore to fill the revenue deficit. Hope we will get funds soon,” he remarked.
