​Vijayawada: Minister for Water Resources Devineni Umamaheswara Rao has said that the State government was successful in providing uninterrupted power supply.

He said with the initiative of Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, AP has emerged as power surplus State.

Addressing a concluding meeting of Nava Nirmana Deeksha-- Maha Sankalpam, organised in Vijayawada on Wednesday the Minister said the TDP government would fulfill all the promises made by Chandrababu Naidu before elections.

He said priority was given for improving medical facilities. He said cement roads were laid at a stretch of 5000 km. Referring to Vijayawada city, the Minister said development works were launched at a cost of Rs 3,000 crore, including Rs 450 crore for Kanaka Durga flyover. He said Machilipatnam port works would be commenced soon.

Presiding over the programme MLA Gadde Rammohan said that the State government waived loans of farmers and Dwcra women despite of financial crisis.

MLAs Bonda Umamaheswara Rao, Jaleel Khan, MLC Budha Venkanna and Municipal Commissioner G Veerapandian spoke.
Later the TDP leaders administered Maha Sankalpam oath to people.
