10 burglars held 25.6 lakh worth booty seized

​Ongole: The Prakasam district police on Friday arrested 10 burglars involved in 29 crimes reported in the district, and recovered assets worth Rs 25.6 lakh including gold, motor cycles tractor trolleys and Rs 1.65lakh.

District SP Dr Trivikrama Varma said Darsi police had recovered 100 gram gold and four motor bikes and Rs 1.5 lakh from habitual offenders Peddineni Tirupati Swamy and Kamineni Malakonda Reddy of Podili mandal for their involvement in six reported crimes.

Another Rs 3.55 lakh worth gold ornaments were recovered from Kommuri Sarath of Ongole by the police as he was involved in four burglaries in town. Karriyeddula Yedukondalu of Chirala was arrested by Chirala police and 196 grams of gold worth Rs 4.9 lakh were recovered from him for his involvement in three thefts.

Potluri Nagaraju, Gogula Lakshmaiah, Gogula Prameela of Santanutalapadu in Prakasam and Udayagiri in Nellore districts were arrested by the Kandukur police and they had recovered 92 grams of gold worth Rs 2.3 lakh and Rs 15,000.

Meanwhile, Chirala police arrested Kavati Varalakshmi and recovered gold worth Rs 2.1 lakh and Ongole CCS police arrested Kavati Lalita and recovered gold worth Rs 60,000 in cases of bags and purses theft.
