​Pithapuram: Amid tight security by armed forces, the bandh was peaceful here on Friday. Protesters who tried to force the venders to close their shops were taken into custody and released later.

Police arrested the protesters who were holding the demonstration in the town and filed cases against 13 persons. Earlier, youth belonged to Kapu community took out a bike rally to extend support for their leader Mudragada. In a never before instance, armed and special forces paraded in the town. Almost every shop in the town was guarded by security personnel.
Former MLA P Dorababau leaders J Rambabu, G Babi, B Ramaiah, K Sankar Rao M Veeramohana Rao K Venkateswara Rao, B Sai M Venkateswara Rao G Kannayya R Pavankuar and others supervised the bandh.
