Anantapur: Minister Palle Raghunatha Reddy turned a farmer for a while to participate in the ‘Eruvaka’ programme, organised in Garladinne on Monday.

He steered the plough to enable the sowing in the field belonged to Chandrasekhara Naidu. Speaking on the occasion, Palle said that farmers were gearing up for sowing groundnuts as the rains arrived earlier this season. Almost 3.9 lakh quintals of groundnut seed was distributed so far and measures had been taken to ensure adequate stock of pesticides, he added. He further said that if rains delayed later, all efforts were taken wet the crop with the help of ‘water gun’. He assured that government always ready to stand by the farmers’ side.
