Briefing the media on the initiatives, including the new free facility being provided by the BSNL for improving its customer service here on Thursday, BSNL general manager MSA Nuton said that the `Free to Home’ service was mainly intended to provide succour to the customers who are worried about missing  the call.

Tirupati: In an effort to expand its customer base, the BSNL introduced a new facility `Free to Home’ service which is now available in the district. With the new facility, the customer can now forward his mobile call to BSNL local landline number and avail clear voice quality of incoming calls from his mobile phone.

Briefing the media on the initiatives, including the new free facility being provided by the BSNL for improving its customer service here on Thursday, BSNL general manager MSA Nuton said that the `Free to Home’ service was mainly intended to provide succour to the customers who are worried about missing the call.

Besides, the new facility, including both prepaid and postpaid mobile phone customers, also help the customer to come over the problems like poor voice quality inside the house, battery about to drain, no proper coverage inside house and also busy with other work.

The customer can avail the call diversion facility by dialling *21* and registering his land line number. Similarly, #21# for deactivate call diversion.

He said that the BSNL buoyed with the success of the ‘unlimited free night call service’ introduced the new facility for further improvement of its customer service and hoped that the facility will help BSNL attract new customers. In this connection, he said that Chittoor district has added 85,411 new mobile customers in 2015-16 and as on May this year and the BSNL is now having 4.56 lakh mobile customers in the district.

Furthermore, Chittoor stood first in MNP (mobile number portability) in the entire AP circle with every 43 PORT-OUT there are 100 PORT-IN, he informed.

As part of improving mobile phone service, 75 more 2G towers were planned this year in which 45 were already set up while work is on for the remaining, he said. He observed that many remote mandals particularly those on Karnataka and Tamil Nadu borders were benefitted with the expansion.
