He conducted a review meeting with marketing department officials in the State marketing department office in Guntur city on Friday.

Speaking on the occasion, he said that they would display vegetable prices and government schemes in the rytu bazaars soon. He further said that they have so far introduced 80 mobile rytu bazaars in the State. He said he has instructed the officials to complete link road works taken up in the villages at a cost of Rs 200 crore by July end. He said he asked the MLAs and Agriculture Marketing Committee chiefs to submit proposals to lay link roads.

The Minister said they would set up ‘Rytu Seva Centres’ in the rytu bazaars. He said the government set the target for marketing debarment to collect marketing cess of Rs 521 crore for the current financial year. He further said that they would set up cold storage units and ripening chambers also.

He said Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu will distribute ‘Rytu Runa Upasamana Pathralu’ to the farmers in Prakasam district and added that 32 lakh farmers will get a benefit of Rs 3,512 crore. He said on the same day ‘Rytu Runa Upasamana Pathralu' will be distributed to farmers in all Assembly constituencies.

Replying to a question, he said that under the marketing intervention scheme, the government was selling onions, red gram in the rytu bazaars. He said that e-marketing is best to check irregularities. He said that they have taken steps to introduce e-marketing system in the Guntur Mirchi Yard and assured that he would take steps to solve problems of commission agents in the mirchi yard. Agriculture Marketing Commissioner R Mallikarjuna Rao was also present.
