He said yoga was essential for having mental peace and should be practiced by all. 

Visakhapatnam: World peace can be attained through peace of mind, which is in turn can be attained by practising yoga, said Union Minister for Civil Aviation P Ashok Gajapathi Raju, who along with local officials and political leaders participated at the second International Yoga Day at Swarna Bharathi Indoor Stadium on Tuesday morning.

He said yoga was essential for having mental peace and should be practiced by all.

Speaking on the occasion, Panchayati Raj MMinister Ch Ayyanna Patrudu said a healthy society was possible when every person takes to yoga.

He said Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has been thinking to include yoga in primary school syllabus in order to teach the children from a very young age.

Employees of all government offices, public and private sector undertakings participated in the International Yoga Day celebrations in their respective places.

Local MP Dr K Haribabu, Anakapalle MP M Srinivas, Collector Dr N Yuvaraj, Commissioner of Police T Yoganand, DIG Ch Srikanth, Rural SP Rahul Dev Sharma and other officials were present.

Earlier, Ashok Gajapathi Raju lit the lamp to mark the occasion. Teacher from Yoga Village of Andhra University K Ramesh demonstrated the yogasanas to the Ministers and the officials.Ramesh also explained the importance of each asana to the participants and how certain yogasanas cure the acute illness among people.
