New Delhi: A fresh bout of war has begun amongst all political stake-holders over the Special Status issue of Andhra Pradesh.

While the Congress party has issued a 3-line whip on Tuesday asking its members to be present in the House when it comes up for voting on July 22, the TDPP is gearing up to counter the Congress campaign for Special Status with its own notice for a Short Duration Discussion in the Lok Sabha.

The Lok Sabha is likely to take up the issue for discussion on Wednesday. However, there would be no voting in Lok Sabha. Thota Narasimham, Leader of the TDP in the LS, who served the notice along with N Kistappa and Kesineni Nani, would be speaking during the discussion on the Special Status.

TDP garnering support for the discussion in Lok Sabha ahead of KVP’s bill would put the party in an advantageous situation and hence it would be better if it voted in favour of the amendment when Congress would press for division on the private members bill in Rajya Sabha.

Moreover, it would also give a chance to the TDP to list out Congress' failures in protecting the interests of the State.
