Vijayawada: Pratyeka Hoda Sadhana Samithi conducted a blood donation camp at the CPI office, here on Thursday, in protest against indifferent attitude of Centre over according Special Category Status (SCS) to the State.

Speaking to mediapersons, CPI State secretary K Rama Krishna said that the Union government was planning to grant special package instead of Special Category Status. Stating that people would accept nothing but SCS, he warned the Centre of intensifying agitation for the cause.

We are demanding the implementation of assurances given in AP Reorganisation Act apart from according Special Category Status. This blood donation camp should be an eye opener to the Central government,” he averred.

Stating that people would not tolerate, if Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu compromises with Prime Minister Narendra Modi on SCS issue, the CPI State secretary demanded the Centre to grant Special Category Status.

Pratyeka Hoda Sadhana Samithi convener Chalasani Srinivas said that people have been fighting for the Special Category Status for two years, but the Centre turned a deaf ear.

Prime Minister gave clay and water, but we are sending him our blood for the cause of achieving Special Category Status,” Srinivas said. He wanted Chief Minister and Jana Sena Party chief Pawan Kalyan to come forward for the united fight against Centre. He also demanded that the Centre must grant subsidies on the lines of Assam and other states.
