Banaganapalle (Kurnool): Ryots are worried as their crops in thousands of acres were submerged at Nallampadu and Lingala villages in Kovelakuntla mandal due to the recent downpour which resulted in overflowing of Kundu river.

The ryots belonging to Nallampadu, Kalugotla, Revanuru, Gulladurti, Beemunipadu villages are cultivating paddy, maize, cotton and Chilli. The crops in these villages were submerged due to the rains on August 30, causing a heavy damage. The ryots were worried with the recent rains damaging the crops yet again.

The recent rains did not allow them to recover from the damage that was caused earlier. The ryots urged the government to extend compensation.
