Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu said that Krishnapatnam Port would transform Nellore into a mega city, as it would spur industrial growth. He attended the Roti Festival and received ‘Rashtrabhivruddhi Roti’ from former MLA Adala Prabhakar Reddy at Barashaheed Dargah on Thursday. 

Nellore: Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu said that Krishnapatnam Port would transform Nellore into a mega city, as it would spur industrial growth. He attended the Roti Festival and received ‘Rashtrabhivruddhi Roti’ from former MLA Adala Prabhakar Reddy at Barashaheed Dargah on Thursday.

Speaking on the occasion, he categorically mentioned that Nellore would be the only place which gets the benefit of Visakhapatnam-Chennai Industrial Corridor (VCIC) and Chennai-Bangalore Industrial Corridor (CBIC).

He said 14 industrial organisations have expressed their interest to start their units in the district and some have already initiated the process. He appealed to devotees to offer ‘Rashtrabhivrudhi Roti’ for growth and completion of Amaravati as planned.

He also stated that religious harmony plays a significant role in community development. He reiterated that linking of Godavari and Penna rivers would be a solution for the regional development. He asserted that the government was committed for progress of farmers.

“The works of Nellore and Sangam barrages are planned with Rs 350 crores and will be completed by March, next year,” he informed. He added that there was a vast scope for development of tourism in the district and it has to be tapped for revenue as well avenues for local jobless youth. Naidu stated the State would be one among top three States in the country by 2022.

The Chief Minister informed that the State government allocated Rs 750 crore for welfare of the Minorities and Imams were also being provided with honorarium. “Support to masjids, support to the girls from Muslim community for their marriage, support for education abroad, and other sops were offered to the minorities,” he added.

Stating that despite financial crisis, the government released funds for organising the event, the Chief Minister said that they had released Rs 8 crore for ghats at Swarnala Cheruvu and other works. He assured that they would allocate another Rs 20 crore for the development of Dargah.

Municipal Administration Minister P Narayana, Minister for Transport Sidda Raghava Rao, Ministers Ramanarayana Reddy, Adala Prabhakar Reddy, Mayor Abdul Aziz, MLCs B Ravichandra, V Narayana Reddy and others were present.
