Revenue target of Rs 5,500 cr set for the Stamps and Registration Department for the current FY Rs 2,500 cr realised within six months

Amaravati: Revenue Minister K E Krishna Murthy said the government has set a target of earning revenue of Rs 5,500 crore through Stamps and Registrations Department for the current financial year. Already the department has realised Rs 2,500 crore within six months.

Speaking to mediapersons here on Monday, he said the department failed to register revenue growth as per expectations in Krishna and Guntur districts during the last six months.

He opined that a majority of people in these districts do not prefer to sell properties as they expect more development activities to take place following the plans of State government.

He said that the Revenue Department has also started its functioning from the temporary Secretariat complex at Velagapudi and the department would continue its operations from the Secretariat only.

He said that the government had introduced reforms in the Registration Department and especially all the records have been digitalised.

The Minister said that the government would soon fill up the vacant posts of 250 surveyors. He said 1200 licensed surveyors would be given training in view of demand for proposed survey works in Amaravati capital city, Machilipatnam port and Bhogapuram airport.

He said that the Centre has allotted Rs 40 crore for survey work and sanctioned Rs 870 crore for provided training under new technology.
He said that drone technology would be introduced in the revenue services.

He criticised Opposition leader Y S Jaganmohan Reddy for spreading false campaign against the State government and Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu. He said that people would teach a lesson to the Opposition leader for his cheap remarks against the Chief Minister.
