Distressed engineering student commits suicide
According to the police, Nagalakshmi and her friend Sai Kumar, who were travelling on a bike, were stopped by police at Valluru flyover on Monday. Fearing police, the students provided false information, which raised doubts and they were brought to Tangutur police station for enquiry.
Ongole: A distressed engineering student committed suicide in her hostel, here on Tuesday morning. K Nagalakshmi (19), a native of Podili, was studying first year of civil engineering at PACE Institute of Technology and Sciences in Ongole. On Tuesday morning, she locked herself in the room and hanged from the ceiling.
According to the police, Nagalakshmi and her friend Sai Kumar, who were travelling on a bike, were stopped by police at Valluru flyover on Monday. Fearing police, the students provided false information, which raised doubts and they were brought to Tangutur police station for enquiry.
Upon questioning, the duo revealed that they were students and after verifying with the college management, the police left the duo. Inmates of the hostel said that Nagalakshmi was visibly shaken with the incident and feared that her parents would know about it. On Tuesday morning, when her room mates left for yoga session, she locked herself and committed suicide.
