Tirupati: A high drama was witnessed on the last day of chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu’s visit to his native village Naravaripalli, on Sunday following the unexpected arrival of local YSRCP MLA Chevireddy Bhaskar Reddy to participate in two official programmes of the CM in the village.
It is needless to say that the opposition party MLA presence along with his followers in the village left the police on tenterhooks. They were forced to spend anxious moments for nearly two hours.
Also TDP leaders, activists and officials turned up in sizeable numbers for CM visit, even as it generated excitement among the big contingent of media men gathered to cover the three- day CM visit to his native village.
Chandrababu was scheduled to declare open the ATM set up by Andhra Bank near his ancestral home and also to lay the foundation stone for expansion of PHC into 30 bed hospital in the village at 10 a.m.
followed by interaction with local people and party activists and to receive petitions in TTD Kalyanamandapam, near his house where the officials also made necessary arrangements for the people to wait.
Surprisingly, YSRCP MLA turned up at about 8 in the morning well ahead of the CM’s official programmes and camped in TTD Kalyanamandapam along with his followers with the people waiting for CM.
Reddy patiently waited in Kalyanamandapam till CM came out of his house for the inauguration of the ATM and laying of the foundation for the hospital expansion works, after 12 noon, two hours behind schedule and participated in the programmes.
Reddy left after submitting a memorandum to CM to develop Chandragiri area hospital which is pending for long much to the relief of officials, police and TDP activists and leaders.
However, the people waiting since early morning at the Kalyanamandapam for CM to represent their woes and problems were disappointed when CM returned to his home after the official programme.
It is not known whether the programmes were delayed and the interaction with people was not held to avoid Reddy or not.
