Vijayawada: A team of entrepreneurs associated with Andhra Pradesh Food Processing Industry (APFPI) are planning to expand their business to overseas market in Gulf region and other countries.

Vijayawada: A team of entrepreneurs associated with Andhra Pradesh Food Processing Industry (APFPI) are planning to expand their business to overseas market in Gulf region and other countries.

As a part of the efforts, members of a delegation will be taking part in the International Dubai Food Festival next month.

FPI which consists of Dairy products, meat, poultry, prawn, fish, vegetables, fruits and cereals are the backbone of Andhra Pradesh economy.

The influence of FPI on the economy of the State is very high as it provides livelihood to lakhs of people.

The State government has decided to highlight the FPI and its prospects in the CII Partnership summit 2017 which is going to be held in Visakhapatnam on January 27 and 28.

The main brochure of the State government which has been printed has highlighted the FPI. It has highlighted the ‘Invest and Prosper in Food Processing Sector’ with the image of Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu.

Andhra Pradesh is one of the leading States in India in production of commercial crops, meat, dairy products, meat, aqua products and poultry products etc.

The State is also strengthening its economy by promoting cold chain units, new food processing units, integrated food parks, mega food parks, cold chain for shrimp and fish etc.

Members of the Andhra Pradesh Chamber of Commerce and Industry is leading the team of entrepreneurs to Dubai Food Festival.

The delegations will meet local businessmen in Dubai and Sharjah on February on 29 and 30.

The delegation will attend the Dubai food festival which is going to be held at World Trade Centre (WTC) on February 26 and 27 to get awareness on the technology and innovations taking place in food processing industry around the world.

Technical experts from all over the World will participate in the Food festival.

The Government of UAE organises Food festival ever year to promote Food Processing industry in the World.

General Secretary of Andhra Chamber of Commerce and Industry P Bhaskara Rao told The Hans India that local entrepreneurs are making arrangements for the visit of AP delegation to Dubai.

He said the main objective of attending the Dubai food festival is to expand AP food processing market to other countries particularly to Gulf countries and Europe.

He said Rs.4600 crore investments has been made in 18 months in the State food processing sector and expected to attract more investment in the coming years.
