TS rep tars Centre in bias paint

New Delhi: Special Representative of the Telangana Government to New Delhi, S Venugopala Chari, here on Tuesday hit out at the Centre for favouring AP at the cost of Telangana "in every area and in every
issue".

Speaking to the media, he said the injustices heaped on Telangana from day-one of its formation were quite disturbing. The people of the State had fought peacefully and valiantly for nearly six decades to realise their dream of separate Statehood. But, ever since, the step-motherly treatment of the State was hurting every Telanganite.

"We have been seeking justice in the allocation of water resources as per the AP Reorganisation Act, 2014 and yet our plea is ignored.

In the distribution of assets too the Centre seems to be favouring our neighbour. Why should the PMO cancel a prior appointment given to the CM who was planning to bring to the notice of the Prime Minister a long pending demand.

Categorisation of SC reservations has been promised by the BJP leaders themselves. How did they cancel the same without any reason? Even in case of the R-Day Parade tableau, after clearing six meetings, the same was rejected and yet, no reason was given.

Last year too it happened similarly. How come the new State is sidelined from showcasing its culture at a national level", he said.

Chari reiterated that the Chief Minister, K Chandrashekar Rao,had only one dream of building 'Bangaru Telangana' and no other vested interest in demanding the State's due in funds and developmental projects.

"We want both the Telugu States to develop. But don't intentionally block our development", he added.
