Philanthropist Mattapalli Chalamaiah passes away

Well known philanthropist Mattapalli Chalamaiah (93) who was involved in the social and community service for the past 50 years, passed away here at a private hospital on Monday after a brief illness.

The entire city at once was dumbstricken with spread of the news that the social activist is no more. He had extended a lot of help to the spiritual and socialc service sectors. Thousands thronged his residence at Pandurangapuram area to pay last respects.
Lok Sabha member K Hari Babu, Ministers Ganta Srinivasa Rao, Ch Ayyanna Patrudu, TDP senior leader Sanapala Panduranga Rao, MLAs Velagapudi, Ganababu, Vasupalli, YSRCP district president G Amarnath, former Mayor Sabbam Hari, Gayatri Vidya Parishad secretary Prof P Somaraju, PCC general secretary Dronamraju Srinivas and TDP leader Zaheer Ahammed expressed heart-felt condolences to the bereaved family members.
