In the last 40 years, repair works not taken up for the building and water is leaking from the roof during rainy season.
About 32 employees are working in the DIC office and they are saying that the building is unsafe for them to discharge duties. DIC General Managers in the past had submitted several representations to the Director of Industries to demolish the old building and construct a new one.

According to the sources, proposal for the construction of building has been shelved due to unknown reasons.Speaking to The Hans India, DIC General Manager agaraja stated that employees are under constant fear of roof collapse as the building is in a dilapidated condition. He informed that consultations and meetings are being conducted with prospective industrialists in the undecorated conference hall. The DIC official recalled of an incident where a higher official of foreign collaborated company visited the office and expressed serious dismay over the pathetic condition of the building and the conference hall.
“The official did not come back to have further consultations after seeing the building and the conference hall,” he added. He admitted that the appearance of the DIC building would certainly influence the industrialists to a large extent. Nagaraja said that the district has potential for setting up industries and District Collector Siddarth Jain has been instrumental for getting more and more new industries to the district.
It would become easy for attracting the industrialists to establish their units in the district if a new building for DIC constructed, he said and urged the Minister Amarnath Reddy to sanction Rs 3.5 crore for new building.
