Phule foremost proponent of women education: Reddy Subrahmanyam

Kakinada: Mahatma Jyotirao Phule is not only a social former but foremost proponent of women education, said Legislative Council deputy chairman Reddy Subrahmanyam. Addressing the gathering at the 191 birth anniversary celebrations of Mahatma Phule organized at B R Ambedkar Bhavan on Tuesday, he said that Phule raised strong resentment over the existing social inequalities.
He requested the government to confer Bharat Ratna to Mahatma Phule for his efforts. Subrahmanyam also appealed to the leaders of various organisations including political parties to work for the implementation of ideals of Phule.
