Vijayawada: Commissioner of Police D Gautam Sawang on Thursday made it clear that the recent attack on trader Brahmaji has no connection with Hawala and it was a dispute between the two parties for arranging a loan for the development of the two corporate hospitals in the city.
He convened a press conference at his office and ex plained the details of the case, which has become a hot topic in the city for the past three days. It may be noted that trader Brahmaji alleged that two doctors assaulted him at a mango grove in Nunna due to financial disputes and he was undergoing treatment at a corporate hospital for the past three days in the city.
The Commissioner of Police disclosed to the media that K Brahmaji took Rs R 42 lakh in 2014 from the Time and Help Hospital management and promised the latter that he would arrange Rs 50 crore loan for the development of the two hospitals, but he had failed to fulfil his promise. The Commissioner of Police said Bramaji’s family members informed the police on Dial 100 recently that someone had kidnapped Brahmaji.
In turn, police, who took up the investigation, foudn that he was kidnapped and beaten up. He further stated that the police identified Innova car belonging to Time Hospital and got further information about the case with the help of CCTV footage. Later they registered a case in Patamata police station against five persons for allegedly beating Brahmaji.
The Commissioner of Police has made it clear that the case has no connection with Hawala and it was a purely private affair between the two parties. He said the investigation is still continuing on the allegations and the police are yet to arrest the five accused in the case.
He has made it clear that the police are committed to maintain law and order in the city and would not tolerate the activities of anti-social elements. He further stated that teams have been constituted to nab the accused who assaulted Brahmaji.
