Rahman said the employees would have to play a key role in implementing the GST and put in hard work including improving technical skills. He said the government will provide necessary technical assistance for implementing the GST, and for the purpose, a strong GST network and IT ecosystem has also been put in place.
Urging officials to maintain transparency in implementing new tax system, Rahman said the Central government would act as a co-ordinator between taxpayers and traders. “More offices for GST, Central Excise and Service Tax will be opened. The government has already framed rules for implementing the GST and employees cooperation is essential for its implementation,” he said.
Central Excise Additional Commissioner V Nagendra Rao urged the officials to create awareness on GST and felt that mutual cooperation between GST mechanism and commercial tax departments will help the country develop.Earlier, Rahman explained through a power point presentation about GST network services and how to use software through. Central Excise department officials were also present.
