Vijayawada: Congress Rajya Sabha MP K V P Ramachandra Rao suggested to Telugu Desam Party to move a bill to make amendments to AP Re-Oragnisation Act if the party was of the view that the Act was insufficient to do justice to the State.Ramachandra Rao said the Congress would also support the TDP if it does so instead of enacting dramas in the State.

Lambasts CM for trying to obstruct Pratyeka Hoda Sabha

Addressing a press conference here on Monday, Ramachandra Rao said Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu could ask his MPs and Union Ministers to raise voice on the problems of AP. Instead of this, Naidu was provoking his leaders and cadre in the State to obstruct Congress party meetings.

“The UPA government led by the Congress included several benefits in AP Re-Organisation Act. The TDP could move a bill to get more benefits such as national status to Dummugudem-Nagarjuna Sagar tail pond project, more funds to backward districts in Rayalaseema and North Andhra. Why Naidu did not do so,” he asked.

He said it was unfortunate that Naidu had provoked his party representatives and followers against the Congress and its leader Rahul Gandhi. Ramachandra Rao alleged that the Chief Minister directed the police and TDP activists to obstruct the Congress meeting. However, he thanked the people for making the party’s meeting on Special Category Status a grand success.

Continuing his attack, he said Chandrababu Naidu, as a Chief Minister, set a dangerous trend to suppress the voice of the Opposition. AP Congress Committee president N Raghuveera Reddy said that the Pratyeka Hoda Sabha was successful in instilling confidence among people and youth in the State and they attended the meeting in large number.

The Chief Minister could not digest the grand success of the meeting and tried to obstruct the meeting, he alleged. “We will also do the same to block TDP meetings or CM tours in districts henceforth,” he said.Former Union minister Killi Krupa Rani, former minister Vatti Vasantha Kumar, party leaders Surya Naik, Malladi Vishnu, Kolanukonda Sivaji and Sunkara Padma Sree were present.
